The Suckiest Lesson
And it's so true! We were raised hearing that phrase, but i'ts not until you go through a situation that relates to it, that you actually start to believe it. It's like knowing there's cockaroaches in your cabinets. I personally don't spend all day thinking about them, I just subconciously know they're there. It's not until I walk into the kitchen at night to get a glass of water, turn on the lights, and see them scatter that I actually freak out about them and say, "We have got to do something about those roaches."
We live in a nation where everything is handed to us, and it's time to start applying this lesson to our lives, instead of keeping it stored away in our kitchen cabinets.

Lingering
I feel like I should get my music more organized... like, make a music portfolio, and maybe make a fresh demo of my newest stuff, but I'm just lingering along, never getting things done.
I'm ready to leave my garage. I miss the stage. I miss the sound. I should stop living on fast forward. I liked it better when everything was on pause and I had nothing to do on weekends but make music for my neighbors.

I've lost the Mojo.
I tried to write a new song.
But I wanted something fresh.
I sat at my piano for five hours last night, and all I came up with was a bunch of doodles of the sky. I don't exactly know what's happening, but recently, I'm always stressing on my plans for the weekend, for the month, for the year. I haven't had a chance to paint.
I'ts 12:40 AM,
I think I'll go paint.
Maybe something will come to mind...
Something like a second verse.
This is the DRAMA you've been waiting for.

Little girls in make-up,
13 year olds are mothers,
15 year olds are ambitious after their first job.
18 year olds swim in their consequences.
Are we growing up too fast?

How much Genesis sucks at basketball
As I've mentioned before, I'm on a mini-vacation with my family and tonight, we're staying with the Segovias. Genesis Segovia, a dear friend from San Antonio, truly captured my attention today and I've decided to make him today's blog topic.
The Segovia boys and a couple of their friends (and me, serving as a scorekeeper and a lampost) gathered on the driveway of the Segovia house to play ball, and once the guys were into teams, the game was on. Sure, on the court he seems confident and secure of his skills, but the question is, What skills? Tonight's game was a particular example of Genesis' lack of skills.
I made the unfortunate mistake of cheering for my brother's team. I say unfortunate not because I'm a bad sister, but because Genesis and my brother were on the same team. They were off to a terrible start, Genesis' team, given to the fact that Gabriel (Genesis' brother and basketball opponent) scored the first point.
To make a long story short, Genesis and his team lagged behind Gabriel and his team throughout the entire game, and the struggle ended in an abrupt manner when Genesis got hit in the eye and decided to forfeit, proving that he's a whimp and he's (literally) got no game.

San Antonio
My dad and his family are having a family reunion this weekend here, in San Antonio, TX. Naturally, my brother and I dreaded the fact that they made us come, especially since we're going to be here for three whole days, so we decided to make the best of our visit, and left to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. We came home to a house full of angry aunts and uncles, who resent us and my parents for letting us go to Fiesta Texas while the family was here. Their argument? One aunt said, "It's a family reunion and our kids should be HERE WITH US, not having fun."
These next glare-filled days should be a blast! Especially since my brother and I plan on spending every single one of them at Fiesta Texas.
